Getting ready for Mexico

Hey girls!

Exams are finally over (thank god!) and I think they went pretty well. I'm just really happy to have them over and done with (except that now I have to write an essay for my elective over the break). My last two exams were pretty routine except for a fire alarm! During my algebra exam the fire alarm went off so everyone had to evacuate and we stood outside for about 10 minutes before we were moved into a neighbouring building. I thought it was just some idiot who pulled the alarm but the fire trucks came and there was actually a problem. I'm not sure if it was a fire or just a pipe burst but there was water pouring out of the athletics building (where I was writing my exam) when we were outside. We finally were let back in and we got to keep writing the exam but the alarm didn't stop for about 10 minutes while we were writing and after that my concentration was totally thrown off. It was disappointing and frustrating but there's nothing I can do about it (to tell you the truth I was surprised we were allowed to just go back and keep writing our exam like nothing happened). My calculus exam was a lot less eventful though, just a regular exam.

Since exams have ended I haven't had much time to myself. I finished exams on the night of the 21st, had orientation for my summer job on the 22nd, went to Toronto with my family on the 23rd, came back and went to church on the 24th, went to Kingston for more family stuff on the 25th and today I've been writing an essay (or trying to - I have severe writer's block and it's been frustrating me) and packing because tomorrow I leave on a family trip to Mexico until the 3rd of January. I've decided that for reading week in February I'm not doing or planning anything because this break was just way too planned. I wanted more than one day to spend at home and I would've preferred to not be doing homework all day - I wanted to just sit around and do nothing to be honest. I think I'll have plenty of time to do that in Mexico but it's not quite the same of course.

I didn't think I would but I already miss my friends that I made from school. It's weird when you go from seeing your friends all day, everyday to not seeing them at all. It hasn't even been a week yet and it feels weird - imagine how weird it's going to be come summer time! I don't even want to think about it… I have to go and finish packing and writing that essay (I feel like the majority of it will be done in the airport). Comment if you have any questions!
