A house for next year

Hey girls!

I'm so sorry about my late reply - my computer's power cord is broken and I have a midterm this Saturday and I'm stressing over it a little so my schedule's been thrown off. There was a lot of work I had to catch up on for it (which was my own fault but I still had to do it) and twice as much material to remember as the first midterm (this class, mechanics, has two midterms). During all of this amazing and warm weather we've been having I've been inside studying and going to class. It's been bye-bye tunnels and hello outside world though on my way to class. It's so sunny and I feel like a real person again and not just a tunnel rat anymore - thank God!

Today was a pretty exciting day because I just found out that me and my friends have a house for next year! It's about a 10 or 15 minute walk from Carleton and already has five bedrooms (other houses we were looking at needed to be converted into five bedrooms and would've been more complicated). I just told everybody and we're all so excited to move in and decorate and have more space than residence (yay for a regular sized room!).

Another reason today was exciting - my dad took me out for lunch at Harvey's. That probably sounds like a lame thing to get excited about but honestly, the less caf food the better. When you go to university I suggest getting a meal plan with fewer meals per week and more money you can spend at on-campus restaurants if possible. I'm just getting a little sick of cafeteria food at this point (but so is everybody). The silver lining is that school is almost over though - I'm only living in residence for another 5 weeks which means I get to eat regular food in just over a month.

The downside of being out of school soon is that all of my friends are going home in 5 weeks. Two of the people that I'm closest with here live really far away (I'm talking one in Thunder Bay and the other lives in New Brunswick). Hopefully I'll visit them this summer or maybe we can all get together for my birthday (in August) but it's definitely going to be weird not seeing them every day or having to say goodbye. I guess it's just something I'll deal with when the time comes - for now I'm trying not to think about it. Comment with questions!
