Learning time management

Hey girls!

So this week`s been a lot less stressful than last week (thank god!). I`ve been taking easy since I don`t want to overload myself with work and go crazy like last week (if avoidable).

This past weekend was a lot of fun (I was in Toronto for summer job training) and I met some driven and very ambitious people. At times it was kind of overwhelming (when I was being told everything I have to get done and whatnot) but I was more excited about my summer job when we learned about hiring someone (it seems kind of fun interviewing someone). Unfortunately being away all weekend meant staying up until 3 am on Monday night trying to get my program and lab done that were due the next day. I got it all done but I have never been so tired for 8:30 class in my life! I had only got 4 hours of sleep so trying to stay awake, focus and retain information during my first lecture of the day was quite the task. I`ve realized that I do a surprising amount of work over the weekends so when I miss a weekend I miss a lot of time that needs to made up before and after the weekend (meaning I`m up until all hours of the night).

Last week I got a bunch of assignments, midterms and tests back and good news - I pretty much know what I`m doing in my classes. WOO! The only mark I was a little upset about was my mechanics midterm (not because I did bad but just because I thought I did a lot better than I did). After looking it over I realized that I made a bunch of small mistakes that really added up so I`m going to have to be extra careful with my next midterm (yes this class had 2 midterms).

I started making a list of all the things I need to either catch up on or do by next week and it`s a little scary. I`m behind in my mechanics (which is my own fault) so I need to do 31 questions. Although 31 questions doesn`t seem like a big deal, when the questions take you about 15 or 20 minutes to do (if everything goes smoothly) each, that adds up to a lot of time. Even though I`m looking at my long and depressing list of everything I have to get done I`m definitely feeling better than last week. I`m still frustrated with all the work I have to get done but I`m feeling more optimistic and I`m seeing lots of people WAY worse off than me so, comparatively speaking, I`m actually not that bad. Comment with any questions!
