blog post #4
Hey girls!
So I was home all weekend and basically have nothing crazy exciting to report there except that I went and saw the ROCKETTES with my family on Sunday night - me and my sister loved it! I spent the majority of the weekend doing homework (in my huge bed at home which was a nice change from the little one here at residence) and hanging out with my sister which I loved because my sister is like my best friend so I really miss here when I'm at residence. What was really annoying though was when I got back to campus I went over to my friends' suite to finish up my lab and realized I had done a good portion of it wrong so I had to redo it. Can you say BRUTAL?
This week has been pretty laid back, school-wise so it's a nice change of pace. I had a linA test today and a calculus test tomorrow but because my mark is already good in both classes (80 in linA and 93 in calculus) the tests I write this week don't count unless they improve my grade. That really helps me calm down - I get to write my tests really relaxed and I don't need to stress out if I make a few mistakes on that tests. And another good thing - it's my off week for my chemistry lab so I'm done classes on Friday at 11:30 in the morning! Woop woop!
On the social front, not too much had been happening this week yet. One of the guys on my floor was dared to be vegan for a month by his roommate and his month was up on Sunday. We were supposed to have toaster strudel day on Monday (we were just going to buy a box of toaster strudel from the store in Residence Commons and eat it all) but when we went down to the store there was none left. Most epic FAIL of a toaster strudel day I've ever seen so we've put a hold on the event. Tomorrow is movie night (me, my roommate and the group of four engineering guys I spend most of my time with tend to watch movies on Thursday night) so for a change I think we're going to take the O-train to South Keys and actually go to the movies and spend some time off campus. Big day for us!
Oh BIG NEWS - I heard back from the job I wanted for the summer and turns out I got it! I know it's going to be a lot of work but I think it'll be a really cool experience and I'm beyond excited! This job was the first time I'd been interviewed though. I was really nervous that I wouldn't answer his questions the right way but all I did was answer them honestly and turns out that's all I had to do.
It's time for some physical activity (swimming at the Carleton pool - YAY) so I'll write another blog soon! By the way, if there's anything you want to know (concerning school, social stuff, residence life, me in general) leave me a comment and I'll get back to you ASAP!
