A nice study break

Hey girls!

This week was so crazy - I had an algebra test AND a chemistry midterm (my last midterm) on Wednesday so my Tuesday was spent studying over in my friends' room which consists of four engineers (all guys surprise, surprise). It all paid off though because both my test and exam seemed pretty easy and now my week is all downhill. I rewarded myself by watching movies last night after class (that might not seem like a big deal but I have next to no free time during the week so I was really excited) at my friends' room with my roommate. I have to watch Friday the 13th for my film studies class (it's my elective) but I'm really bad with scary movies so we decided to watch that last night and it was TERRIFYING! All my friends were laughing at how jumpy I was and to calm me down we watched The Hangover afterwards. The best part about movie night in residence is that DC++ (a file sharing site through the university) has basically anything you'd want to watch so we never have to spend money renting movies.

This weekend is going to be a nice break from such a crazy week. On Friday I'm going to a second year party one of my friends is throwing off campus and my best friend and my roommate are going to come with me so we're guaranteed to have a good time! Saturday is my friend's birthday so he and a bunch of our friends are all going out for the night - other than that, the weekend will be catching up on calculus and algebra homework and doing a couple labs.

So far, the year's been pretty good. It's a lot of work, no doubt, but I've learned how to manage my time and prioritize my work. That's a really important skill to have if you're going into a program with a heavy course load (everyone told me that but I didn't believe it until I got to university) because I've known a lot of my friends to stay up really late trying to get labs done. I definitely don't regret taking engineering and I'm really excited to see what's up next for me!
